Vyrona (McDaniel) LeJeune

August 7, 1931 ~ January 9, 2023 (age 91) 91 Years Old


Opelousas- Vyrona LeJeune, age 91, passed away peacefully at her residence in Krotz Springs on January 9, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Katherine McDaniel, husband Stanley and son Stanley Jr. She is survived by her son William, wife June, grandchildren Stephen, Mindy and Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vyrona enjoyed drinking coffee with friends and playing dominos. She loved to travel and never met a stranger. She enjoyed ceramics and cooking for her family and friends. Her faith was very important to her and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. She was well liked in her community and was generous and kind. She loved spending time with family and friends and kept the room lively with conversation and Boudreaux jokes.

She attended Louisiana College but ultimately graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. For over 20 years, she taught 2nd grade in Louisiana and in Kentucky. She was very passionate about her career, and her students admired her very much.

After their retirement, Vyrona and Stanley opened and managed Vyrona’s Gift Shop in Lake Charles until 2000.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on January 14, 2023, at The First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Allan Myers will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on January 14, 2023, from 9:00 am until ll:00am at the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Burial will follow in The First Baptist Church cemetery.
