Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ivy Mae Quebedeaux at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ivy Mae passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Senior Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
She loved to visit with family and friends and being a grandmother to her many grandchildren. Ivy always enjoyed making Christmas candy, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers, Pokeno with friends, was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and Lawtell Homemakers Society.
She is survived by her sons, Darrel James Quebedeaux, Gerald Dale Quebedeaux and wife Marie, Donald Ray Quebedeaux, and Olen Giles Quebedeaux, Jr.; daughter Stacey Lynn Quebedeaux Deville and husband Shannon; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Valentine Richard; two brothers, Robert Lee Richard and Clifford Jean Richard; great-grandchild, Travin Tanner Jensen; and husband of 48 years, Olen Quebedeaux, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Ladies Altar Society will recite the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
