William Thomasson

March 21, 1931 — August 8, 2020

Melville- A Private Funeral Service will be held for William Benjamin Thomasson. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.

William, age 87, a resident of Melville, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Known to those who loved him as Husband, Daddy, Pawpaw, Uncle Bill and loyal friend, he will be deeply missed.

Bill was soft-spoken and showed his love by action.

He lived a full life, always looking for ways to help people.

Bill loved being with his family which included his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He also loved going to church and his church family was very dear to him.

Bill was an avid hunter but also enjoyed spending time in “the woods”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlys Wyble Thomasson, daughters, Leslie Thomasson Trahan (Glenn) of The Woodlands, Texas, Lisa Thomasson Jung (Thomas) of Melville, 4 grandchildren, Salena Trahan Mitchell (Christopher) of The Woodlands, Texas, Grant Trahan (Hollie Nelms) of Abbeville, La., Allison Trahan of Houston, Texas, and Jon Jung of Melville, LA, 4 great grandchildren, Linclon Mitchell and Truett Mitchell, Bailey Trahan and Bennett Trahan.

He was preceded by 10 brothers and sisters. He now joins his siblings and parents in heaven for eternity.

Pallbearers will be, Grant Trahan, Dustin Dupont, Charles Thomasson, Brad Joffrion, Jeff Joffrion, and Shane Joffrion.
