OPELOUSAS- A funeral service will be held for Rose K. Schooff at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Father Matthew Higginbotham will conduct the service.
Rose, age 88, a resident of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at a local care facility.
She was very active in AA and everything it stood for as a sponsor and supporter. She would read and meditate to her Lord and Savior on a daily basis. She was known as kind, witty, sweet, and always willing to tell a joke. She adored her pets and loved her children unconditionally.
She is survived by her sons, Marc Hayden and wife Karen of Washington, Wayne Hayden of Opelousas, and Craig Hayden and wife Kathy of Opelousas; daughter, Aleta Hayden of Opelousas; step-daughter, Lorilei Ward and husband John; grandchildren, Kyle Hayden, John Touchet, Holly Vancleave, Jessica Hayden, Candice Diamond, Julian Hayden, Melissa Ritter, Kari Clement, and Kristopher Christl; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, William E. Kornrumpf and Lucy Joyner; stepfather, James H. Joyner; husband and father of her children, Horace L. Hayden; second husband, John Thompson; and husband John F. Schoof; and sister, Mary Spellman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until the rosary at 10:30 a.m.
