Percy Angelle, Jr.

Leonville– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Percy J. Angelle, Jr. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Percy, Jr., age 75, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System.

Percy, Jr. enjoyed dancing to a good tune, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved spending time outdoors, going fishing and had a passion for work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Percy, Jr. is survived by his sons, Percy Joseph Angelle III and wife, Lisa, Joseph Aubrey Angelle and wife, Donna; step-daughters, Michelle Bergeron and husband, Stoney, Cherie Begnaud Martin and husband, Mitch; mother of his children, Mary Ann Credeur Stelly and husband, Joseph “J.B.” Stelly; mother of his step-children & companion of 39 years, Delores Arnaud; life partner, Shirley Bergeron; half brothers, Francis “BullBat” Bergeron and Wilton “T-Will” Bergeron; half sister, Rita Bergeron; grandchildren, Durick Angelle, Taylor Angelle, Naomi Angelle, Olivia Martin, Julia Martin, Heather Boudreaux, Mitchell Doucet, Stoney Drake Bergeron, Danielle Dohmann, Dylan Stelly and Dustin Stelly; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Percy, Jr. is preceded in death by his parents, Percy Joseph Angelle, Sr. and Elda Stelly Angelle; grandparents, Antoine Stelly, Altana Stelly and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Angelle; step-son, James Begnaud; step-daughter, Lisa Miller; half brother, Alduce “Free” Bergeron; and granddaughter, Joni Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Lester Bergeron, Durick Angelle, Mitch Martin, Stoney Bergeron, E.J. McBride and Seth Dohmann.
