Patrick Manuel

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patrick Manuel, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Monsignor Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow the St. Landry Cemetery.

Patrick, age 52, a resident of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

Patrick was an avid cap collector with over 1000 caps in his collection. He was always active and enjoyed participating in the special Olympics where he won several events. Patrick loved going to school and loved being around people. He will be remembered for his infectious smile. Patrick will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by brother, Kenneth Manuel and wife, Kathleen of Opelousas; nieces and nephews, Dawn M. Lafleur, Daniel Manuel and Katie D. Manuel all of Opelousas; great nieces and nephews, Lauren P. Lafleur, Ashley D. Lafleur, Macie L. Lafleur, Peyton W. Manuel and Kullen P. LaHaye; and great-great-niece and nephew, Taylin B. Guidroz and Jace O. Guidroz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace J. Manuel and Dora Nell Hargroder Manuel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family would love to thank Prompt Succor Nursing Home Staff, Dr. Richard Harmon, Dr. Eric Amy and his personal caregivers; Darlene Reed, Verda Pinkney, Marie Peterson, Alonda Manuel and Janice Lemon.
