Norma Fontenot

OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for Norma Lee Fontenot at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas; visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Fr. Austin Leger will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Ms. Fontenot, age 86, a resident of Lawtell and native of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Opelousas General Health System.

Ms. Fontenot in her younger years loved dancing and going bowling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her favorite T.V. programs. Ms. Fontenot will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her brother, Warren Earl Fontenot; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. Fontenot, Sr. and Helena B. Fontenot; brothers, Donald R. Fontenot and J.C. Fontenot; sister, Elizabeth “Betty Jo” Marks; nieces, Shelia Marks Herbert and Carylon Brinkman; sister-in-law, Monez Passman Fontenot; and brother-in-law, Raymond Marks.
