Lorena Brinegar

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lorena Marks Brinegar, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will following the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Fr. Clint Trahan will conduct the service.

Lorena, age 94, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

Lorena was a member of St. Landry Council on Aging, Silver Slipper Aerobics, Baton Rouge Boat Club, Penny Pals, she enjoyed sewing, dancing, bingo, traveling, and fishing. She competed Senior Olympics in horseshoes and Bean Bag Toss.

She is survived by son, Will Kidder, (Debbie) of Denham Springs, stepson, Kenny Brinegar (Ginger) of Watson, LA., and Billy Brinegar (Kim) of Watson, LA, daughters, Dolores K. Soileau, of Port Barre, Theresa K. Leger of Port Barre, step daughter, Francis Melancon of Baton Rouge, and Deborah Pergue of Baton Rouge, sister, Mildred M. Hardy of Palmetto, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren,  and four great- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Moise Kidder and Frank Brinegar, parents, Noah and Lucille Marks, son, Mikel Wayne Kidder, five sisters, four brothers, sons-in-law, Edward Soileau and Jessie Leger, grandson, Keith Soileau, great-grand son, Roger Scott Leger and Paul Sanders.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. in the Church.
