Leoma Fontenot

PORT BARRE- A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the First Baptist Church in Port Barre for Mrs. Leoma M. Fontenot, 88, who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her daughter’s home surrounded  by her children in Port Barre. Pastor Benji Richard will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Mrs. Fontenot loved crocheting, sewing, playing Pokeno and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her four children, Steve Fontenot and wife, Margaret, Dorothy Badeaux and husband, Karl, Dianna LaHaye and husband, Mitch, Andy Fontenot and wife, Beverly all of Port Barre; 12 grandchildren,  Steve, Charles, Austin, Bert, Hope, Brittany, Cade, Coby, Amanda, Kaycie, Amy, Deidra,19 great-grandchildren, Kailey, Levi, Jade, Emilyn, Gavin, Raelynn, Aiden, Raiden, Gabrielle, Kaden, Tanner, Kylie Taylor, Grayson, Amelia, Amelie, Madalyn, Riley, Piper and 1 great-great-grandchild; Paisley, and one on the way, two sisters, Lilly Ledet of Port Barre and Ethel Woverlton and husband, Richard of Jackson, MO;  one brother, Leonard Dawsey and wife, Cheryl of Port Barre,  sister-in-law, JoAnn Fuselier of Terrel, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her husband, Ludric Fontenot; her mother, Letha Dawsey; and her father, L.E. Dawsey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Bert Artigue, Cade LaHaye, Coby LaHaye, Steve Fontenot, Charles Fontenot and Austin Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaden Artigue and Tanner Lanclos.
