Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. June Sebastien on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Monsignor Russel Harrington will conduct the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mrs. June, age 87, a resident of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. June will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church. Mrs. June enjoyed making treasured memories with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved cooking and playing Cajun music with her late husband, J.L. Mrs. June will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sebastien Tweedel of Lafayette; sister, Jessie Richard of Opelousas and Juanita Tate of Walker, LA; grandchildren, Andrea Miller of Sunset, Chris Daigle of Youngsville, Rosemary Benoit of Sunset and Maegen Benoit of Sunset; great-grandchildren, Chloe Daigle, Corbin Daigle, Victoria Miller, Zachary Miller and Xander Benoit

She was preceded in death by her husband J.L. Sebastien; parents, E.L. Reed, Sr. and Alice Lafleur Reed; daughter, Liz Sebastien Potier; brothers, Floyd Lafleur and Eddie Reed; sisters, Violet Celestine, Dorothy Fontenot and Mamie Godso.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 12:45 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.
