Joyena Lanclos

OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for Joyena “Joy” Lanclos at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Pastor Alan Spence will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mrs. Joy, age 81, a resident of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mrs. Joy waitressed at the Palace Café in Opelousas for over 40 years. She was a devoted member of the First United Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed attending church, bible readings and camp retreats. Mrs. Joy cherished spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Joy will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Eugene Lanclos; son, Eugene Allen Lanclos and wife, Rachel; daughters, Linda Boutin and husband, Dale, Loraine Ellzey and husband, David, and Christine Doiga; sisters, Anita Papa and Sandra Roy and husband, Randy; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Teurling and Millian Daville Prudhomme; son, John Kent Doiga; and sisters, Barbara Castille, Patricia Prudhomme and Beverly Prudhomme.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A memorial devotion will be shared by Pastor Alan Spence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen for visitation from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Brian Andrepont, David Bourque, Jeff Ellis, Nick Gerald, Brendon Gerald and Ross Bourque.
