John Leblanc

December 16, 1938 — March 15, 2020

Opelousas - A PRIVATE SERVICE will be held for John Earl LeBlanc, he passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020.

John was a likeable person always interested in others. He loved to joke with his friends and family. He was a wonderful brother, husband, father and grandfather, and was proud of his family and their accomplishments.

John was a teacher, coach, Asst. Principal and Principal for over 30 years. He was chosen Principal of the year with St. Landry Parish School Board, past board member of several hunting clubs, with numerous awards in fox hunting, member of Louisiana State Retirees Association and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA.

John loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, running fox hounds and beagles, loved watching his grandsons playing sports, and a big supporter of LSU sports.

He is survived by his wife,  Lorraine Buller LeBlanc of Garland, sons, Gary LeBlanc and his wife, Jean of Garland, and Chris LeBlanc and his wife, Aimee of Opelousas, daughter, Angie Brown and her husband, Jude, of Garland, brother, Charles Ray LeBlanc and his wife, Agnes, of Garland, sister, Elaine LeBlanc Fontenot, of Baton Rouge, grandchildren, Nick Brown, Tyler Brown, Alex LeBlanc, Adam LeBlanc, and Ryan LeBlanc.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lois Ortego LeBlanc, his grandparents, Ludin and Coralie Ortego and Joseph and Azina LeBlanc, brother-in-law, Robert Fontenot.

Pallbearers will be Nick Brown, Tyler Brown, Alex LeBlanc, Adam LeBlanc, Ryan LeBlanc, and Gordon LeBlanc.

A special thanks goes out to Heart of Hospice for there wonderful care, and our children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends for there extensive help and love, they are our angels.
