Port Barre -A Mass of Christian Burial for Eloise Fontenot will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mrs. Elouise, age 76, a resident of Port Barre, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Elouise enjoyed watching old movies and playing pokeno. She loved spending time with her family and talking about old times. Mrs. Elouise will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Fontenot (Angelia), John Daniel Fontenot (Danny) and Gerald “Jerry” James Fontenot (Michelle); Tammy Sue Fontenot Bridges (Eddie); her “adopted” daughter, Mary Beth Ramoin (Jordie); brothers, Anthony Gauthier (Janice), Myron Gauthier and Terry Gauthier, grandchildren, Tony Nezat, Jr., Jessica McDaniel, Heather Bridges, Betty Ann Lalonde, Joshua Fontenot, Jordan Fontenot, Kevin Moreau, Jr., Candance Penton, Elizabeth VanOver, Luke Moreau, Angela Ashley, Leona LeBleu, Jacob Moreau, Colby Fontenot, Chris Fontenot, Amber Vercher, Danielle Vercher, Jazmine Fontenot, Cory Bellard, Zach Bellard; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronice Fontenot; daughter, Angela Fontenot Noel; parents, Lester and Viola Manuel Gauthier; siblings, Hubert Gauthier, Dale Gauthier, Eva Guillory and Antoinette Firmin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until (OPEN ALL NIGHT) time of service on Friday in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Luke Moreau, Joshua Fontenot, Jordan Fontenot, Chris Fontenot, Cory Bellard and Zach Bellard. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Bridges, Logan Knott, Jazmine Fontenot, Jordie Ramoin and Colby Fontenot.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses of LA Hospice and Palliative Care, especially her CNA Mary Beth and family, Michelle and Jazmine.
