Clifford Credeur

Clifford Credeur, of North Salem, NY, died peacefully at his home on November 15, 2020. He was 97 years old.

Clifford was born on November 30, 1922 in Rayne, Louisiana, son to the late Clairval and Nedia (Bordes) Credeur. Clifford served his country during WWII in the Navy from December 13, 1941 till October 17, 1947. He was the devoted husband to Frances (Lara) Credeur until her death in 2005.

Prior to retiring, Clifford was Senior Vice President of Olympia & York, the largest commercial real estate company in North America in the 1980’s.  He worked his way up from a janitorial position at Long Island College Hospital to this top executive position. He was widely respected in the industry as an innovator in the efficient management of building operations.  For 30 years, Clifford and Frances lived in Cold Spring Harbor, LI, NY at their horse farm, Equus Valley Farm. After Frances’ death, he relocated to North Salem, NY  where he resided with his daughter Claudia. An avid fisherman throughout his life, he continued to enjoy fishing at their home on Peach Lake. He was also a devoted Yankees fan and enjoyed NASCAR races.

Clifford is survived by his three daughters, Dawn Credeur of South Charleston, WV; Claudia Credeur of North Salem, NY, and Carol Credeur Parker of Rutherfordton, NC; three grandchildren, Matthew Ingle, Shawn Ingle, and Kaitlan Parker; four great grandchildren, Maddox, Emily, Sawyer and Madison Ingle; a brother Ballard Credeur of Opelousas, LA and several nieces and nephews. Clifford was pre-deceased by four siblings, Dorothy, Vidamae, Adley, and Letel, as well as his son, Clifford Lee Credeur

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre, LA. The Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre will provide assistance to Mr. Credeur’s family at that time. The Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY will be assisting the Credeur family while in New York State. http://www.beecherfuneralhome.com

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic Clifford's family are facing unforeseen travel restrictions. In true Cajun fashion they will be hosting a "fais do do" in his memory once restrictions have been lifted in the year 2021.
