PORT BARRE- A Christian Funeral Service for Christy Lea Bazar will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Courtableau Baptist Church in Port Barre; visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church until time of service. Pastor Keith Davidson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Ms. Bazar passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at J. Michael Morrow in Arnaudville, LA. Christy enjoyed cooking and gathering with family and friends. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. With her beautiful smile and baby blue eyes, she always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. No one can ever say that she will not be missed due to the fact she brightened up every room she walked in. Despite the fact she had been battling her illness for 30 years she did it with a big heart and beautiful smile.

She is survived by her son, Brandon Credeur and companion, Germain Knott of Port Barre; her daughter, Chelsie Savoy and husband, Chris of Leonville; her brother, Lonnie Bazar and wife, Gloria of Port Barre; her sisters, Wendy Thibodeaux, Maureen Verrette and Ginger Pitre and husband, Ray all of Port Barre; her 3 grandchildren, Trent Speyer, Camille and Maci Savoy; her godmother, Kim Bourque; her godchild, Erica Middleton; her sister-in-law, Brenda Bazar; and her uncle, Bud Bazar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Leatrice Marks Bazar; her brothers, Chris Marty, Scott and Kip Bazar; her nephews, Marcus Verrette and Jason Quebedeaux; her niece, Dawn G. Quebedeaux; her maternal grandparents, Curley and Gladys Metrejean Marks; her paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Linda Acosta Bazar; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Credeur, Chris Savoy, T.J. Middleton, Chadd Quebedeaux, Mike Fontenot and Jared Bazar.
