Bobby Aymond

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, in St. Landry Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Brady will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Readers will be Amanda and Baly Wilkinson, his two precious Goddaughters. Gift bearers will be Melissa Miller, Angela Bordelon, and Kristen Miller.
Bobby was a native of Opelousas, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed from this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home in Port Barre surrounded by his family at the age of 66. He was also a former Warehouse Shop Foreman in the oilfield industry. Bobby loved to do woodwork. He took great pride in his craftsmanship. He loved LSU, Saints, and Port Barre football. "Pampy", as he was lovingly called by his grandsons, loved Elvis. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned many awards including a Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Port Barre Boosters Club and the Vietnam Buddies era group. He loved being with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren which he loved dearly. He is going to be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita A. Aymond of Port Barre; his mother, Rosamae F. Aymond of Port Barre; two sons, Brady Aymond and wife, Timberly of Pensacola, FL; and Rusty Aymond of Port Barre; brothers, Danny Aymond and wife, Gloria of Opelousas; and Donald Aymond and wife, Darlene of Lafayette; sister, Roseann Higginbotham and husband, Kenny of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Sally Aymond of Port Barre; Godfather, James Fontenot of Leonville; and three grandsons, Kaleb James, Logan Timothy, and Jared Paul Aymond.
He was preceded in death by his father Russell Aymond; brother, Wayne Aymond; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Brady Aymond, Rusty Aymond, Donald Aymond, Andy Aymond, Bryant Miller, and Chad Bordelon. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Aymond, Logan Aymond, Danny Aymond, and Kenny Higginbotham.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home. On Saturday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m until 12:30 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to the OGH ICU nurses and staff, Father James Brady and Deacon Sammy Diesi of St. Landry Catholic Church for their spiritual guidance; our special angel friend who was with him every step of the way, Missy D. Sonnier; His angel and ours, his caretaker, Angela Landry. He loved you like a daughter. Thank you to all family and friends who prayed and asked about us.
