Born on April 22, 1962, in Port Barre, Woodie dedicated his life to both his community and his family, leaving behind a lasting legacy that will be remembered with deep respect and affection.
For two decades, Woodie was the proud owner and operator of Woodie Tree Service, where he applied his expertise and passion for the outdoors to help maintain the natural beauty of his community. His commitment to quality and hard work extended beyond entrepreneurship; he also built a notable career as an ironworker and carpenter. Woodie's hands crafted more than just structures—they created a foundation of trust and reliability among those who knew and worked alongside him.
Outside of his professional life, Woodie was an avid outdoorsman. He found joy and solace in fishing, hunting, and tree cutting. These hobbies were not only pastimes but essential parts of his identity, reflecting his deep connection to nature and the peaceful surroundings of his hometown. Woodie’s love for the outdoors was a gift he shared generously with family and friends alike. Woodie has the best personality and good since of human.
Woodie is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Cindy Arnaud of Port Barre, who stood steadfastly by his side through all the seasons of life. His daughter, Angelica Arnaud of Port Barre, carries forward his spirit and strength. Woodie’s family circle also includes his brother, Marty Arnaud, Sr., of Port Barre, and his sisters Jamie McFarlin (William) of Carencro, and Donna Gilliam of Baton Rouge, nieces and nephews that he looked at like his own kids, Dorie Arnaud, Nicole Stroud, Sarah Gilliam, Crystal Stelly, Valerie Stelly, Marty Arnaud, Jr. Nick Arnaud, Derek, Dexter, Josh Patrick and Nicolas Stelly. And also his dogs that he loved very much Buddy and Jack. These close family ties were a cornerstone of Woodie’s life, underscoring the importance he placed on kinship and community.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Murphy and Lucille Arnaud, whose legacy lives on through him, as well as by nephews Jason McFarlin and Jonathan Gilliam. Their memories remain a cherished part of Woodie's life story.
