William Reed

Mallet Funeral services for Mr. William Reed, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007, in St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet. Interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet.

Father Dennis Osuagwu will conduct the services.

Mr. Reed was a native and long-time resident of Pitreville. He died at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2007, in the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer for many years. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet.

Survivors include: three sons: Ray Reed and wife, Anna Belle of Lawtell; Daniel Reed of Church Point; and Amos Reed and wife, Kathy of Gun Barrel City, TX; three daughters: Loicey Green late husband, David Green of Houston, TX; Ann-Bertha Collins and husband, Joseph of Lake Charles; and Vivian Reed Guillory of Lake Charles; two sisters: Aniece Sonnier of Lake Charles; and Theresa Sonnier of Mallet; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by five foster children: Alex Tyler, Lawrence Tyler, Kenneth Tyler, Norma Jean Tyler, and Patsy Tyler, all of Opelousas; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.

Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Reed; and parents: Amos C. Reed and Doresta Guillory Reed.

Visiting hours will be observed on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the church.
