Wilber "Will" Ray Briley
Opelousas -A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilber Ray Briley, age 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, in St. Landry Catholic Church. Fr. Jerry Mesley will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Wilber passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his residence in Opelousas. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Wilber was a retiree of Cintas after 36 years of service. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post #45 in Opelousas, and Post #334 in Port Barre. He served his country with great diligence in the U.S. Air Force. We are forever grateful for his services.
He is survived by his Wife of 60 years, Betty Ann Zerangue Briley of Port Barre, sons, Brian Briley and his wife, Julie of Opelousas, Barry Briley and his wife Pam of Port Barre, Wilber "Ray" Briley II and his fiancé, Kelli Nolan of Port Barre, daughters, Alesia B. Lamke and her husband, Robert Jr. "BB" of Port Barre, Angela B. Carriere and husband, Ricky of Opelousas, and Aline B. Menard and her husband Brent of Port Barre, brothers, James "Jimmy" Briley and wife, Millie of Illinois, John Lionel Briley of Texas, and Floyd Briley and his wife, Sue of Abbeville, his 17 grandchildren, and his 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Jeanne Briley, son, Brad Joseph Briley, sisters and brothers, Dora Smith, Morris Briley, Loretta Gauthier, Leroy Briley, and Beverly Savoie, his father in law, Clem Zerangue Sr. and mother in law, Josephine Angelle Zerangue.

Pallbearers will be all of his grandsons, Matthew Briley, Robbie Lamke, Brennon Carriere, Logan and Cameron Briley, Anthony Miller, and honorary pallbearer Brett Menard.

The family requested visiting hours on Thursday, March 30, 2017, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.

A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
