Wayne Gauthier

Port Barre– A Mass of Christian Burial for Wayne Gauthier will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Wayne, age 60, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Opelousas General Hospital.

Wayne is survived by his companion of 18 years, Jackie Guidroz of Port Barre, his brother, Bobby Gauthier and his wife Patricia of Port Barre, bother-in-law, Terry Stelly of Opelousas, niece and nephews, Bobby Thomas Gauthier, Jr. and his wife, Kristina, Bradley Gauthier and husband, Adam, Hannah Artigue and her husband, Brent, Chelsea Fontenot and her husband, Austin, Mary Ann Brower and husband Joshua, Joseph Leon Stelly and his wife Raquel, 4 great nieces, and 5  great nephews, companion children, Tiffany Soileau and her husband Keith, Taryn Guidroz and her companion Joe Soileau, grandchildren, Blake, Blaine, Noah, Trent, and Alexis and five great grandchildren.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Leon and Shirley Dupre Gauthier, wife, Cheryl Olivier Gauthier, sister, Janette Stelly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral Home.
