Vertie Leblanc

Port Barre – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Vertie LeBlanc on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Vertie, age 85, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Flannery Oaks Guest Home in Baton Rouge.

Vertie was a dedicated member of the Lady’s Altar Society, the Lions Club and numerous others. She enjoyed sewing, designing, and decorating. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Vertie is survived by her son, Jeffrey LeBlanc (Joan); daughters, Beth Sawyer (John) and Bernadette Richard; brother, Joseph Aymond, Jr. (Adele); sister, Jackie Morain (Johnny); 5 grandchildren, Celeste Richard, Rachel Thibodeaux, Andre LeBlanc, Megan Almand and Sarah Young; 6 great-grandchildren, Wesley Thibodeaux, Luke LeBlanc, Natalie Almand, Cassie Almand, Colette Young and Madeline “Maddie” Pitcher.

Vertie is preceded in death by her husband, V.J. LeBlanc; parents, Joseph Aymond, Sr. and Velma Darbonne Aymond; and sister, Mildred Stelly (Jessie).

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by BooBoo Soileau. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
