Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mrs. Ursula "Jean" Fisher Carriere, at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Reverend Ken Domingue will officiate the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Jean, age 81, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her son, Daly Carriere and wife, Shelly; daughter, Pris Rios, and Lynn Rider and husband, Calvin all of Port Barre; grandchildren, Erica Boudreaux and husband, Lance, Lorie Carte and fiancé, Chandler, Kelli Courville and husband, Jai, Ashley Rider, Daniel Carriere and wife, Cassie, Ethan Carriere, and Miranda Menard; great-grandchildren, Ryan Miller, Jaci Miller, Kye Miller, Presleigh Courville and Beckam Courville; and her companion, Lee Begnaud.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Daly Carriere, Sr.; parents, Hans and Lerissa Fisher; son, Michael Ray Broussard; and 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family requests visitation be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday by Deacon Francis Boudreaux. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
