Opelousas- A Christian Mass will be held for Theresa Ann Lanclos on May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. visitation will be held in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. till time of Mass, with a Rosary to be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the Mass.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Ann Lanclos, a very loving person, who departed this world on May 10, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 4, 1948, Theresa's spirit was as vibrant as the fireworks that marked her birthday, lighting up the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Theresa loved to bake and share with her family and friends. She enjoyed crafting and was an avid genealogist, researching and recording family lines and history. She was especially close to her nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and nephews she never forgot there birthdays and special events in their lives. Family meant everything to Theresa. She took an interest in what was going on in their lives and giving them encouragement and guidance.
Theresa was a cherished member of her family and will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She leaves behind her devoted brothers, Lionel Lanclos (Sharon), David Lanclos, and Patrick Lanclos, Sr. (Elaine), as well as her sister, Cecile Lanclos Nugent, all of whom will miss her dearly. Niece, Amanda Nugent, nephews, Patrick Lanclos, Jr., Wilfred Lanclos, Thomas Nugent, Matthew Nugent (Julie), great-nephews, Jack Nugent, Grant Nugent, Zachary Lanclos, Karter Lanclos, great-niece, Camellia Lanclos, and Khole Lanclos.
Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wilfred and Geneviere David Lanclos, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable woman she became. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire her family, serving as a reminder of the profound bond they shared. Also her brother-in-law, Sherman Nugent.
As her family and friends reflect on the special moments shared with Theresa, they take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in their hearts and memories. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of cherishing each fleeting moment. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a beacon of joy in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
