OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for Taylor James Brown on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Taylor, a loving son, devoted father, and talented mechanic, passed away on August 26, 2025, at the age of 30. Born on September 14, 1994, Taylor graduated from Opelousas High School in 2012, where he demonstrated the same dedication and hard work that would characterize his life and career.
Taylor was known for his caring and affectionate nature, touching the lives of many around him. His hobbies included being outdoors, skateboarding, drawing and cooking, particularly for his beloved daughter, Victoria Marie Brown. An animal lover at heart, he cherished time spent with his pets, which included ferrets, a squirrel, and his loyal dog, Jake.
He is survived by his mother, Katrina Daigle Brown and her companion Michael Savoy of Opelousas; his daughter, Victoria Marie Brown of Opelousas; brother, Derik Joseph Brown (Lindsey) of Lafayette; sister, Jessica B. Nezat (Randy) of Arnaudville; sister by heart, Crystal Valla (Seth) of Scott; grandmother, Norma Lafleur Brown of Washington; aunt and godmother, Kiara Marquise (DA) of Texas; godfather, Scott Eaves (Kelly) of Texas; aunt and uncle, Vickie Gaines (David) of Opelousas; and a host of cousins including, Laura Gaines of Opelousas, Sergio McGregor (Emily) of Texas, and Elizabeth Schmal (Chris) of Texas. He also leaves behind treasured nieces and nephew, Karli Nezat, Gunnar Nezat, and Alyssa Simeral; aunts and uncle by heart, Gregory Vellion of Opelousas, aunt, Paula Smith (Wolly) of Washington, and aunt Missy Vidrine (Marshall) of Eunice.
Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Mark C. Brown; his paternal grandfather, Joseph Voorhies Brown; his maternal grandparents, James Daigle and Neva B. Stelly (Bryant); and his cousin, Joshua Gaines.
He will be remembered fondly for his warm spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. Taylor James Brown’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will cherish his memory forever.
