Susette Trahan Cochran

Opelousas-- Funeral service will be held for Susette Trahan Cochran on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.

Susette, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on March 10, 1957, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Susette dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker and nurturing presence to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Sunset High School, Susette carried with her a love for learning and creativity that she infused into her daily life. She was known for her green thumb, spending countless hours cultivating plants and flowers, which brought joy to her home and the lives of those around her. Her interests extended to flea markets and antiquing. She enjoyed collecting sea beans at the beach, Susette had a special affinity for the beach, where she cherished moments of relaxation and connection with nature.

Family was at the heart of Susette's life. She found her greatest joy in her loved ones, always putting them first and ensuring that every situation was enjoyable for them. Her children, Jake Beebe, Jerek Beebe, and Jensen Cochran, along with her daughter, Jordan Cochran Harson, were not only her pride but also her legacy. Susette's commitment to giving her children a strong foundation in Jesus was among her proudest accomplishments, reflecting her deep faith and loving guidance.

She is also remembered fondly by her husband, Barry Cochran, who stood by her side through the joys and challenges of life. Susette shared a special bond with her siblings, including brothers Harvey Trahan and David Trahan, and sisters Sandra Trahan Broom and Kathleen Trahan Hollier. The warmth of her presence will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Aidan Beebe, Haze Harson, Corinne Harson, and Clive Harson, all of whom were blessed to experience her love and light.

Susette journeyed forward in life, her spirit forever touching those she loved deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irby and Dula Trahan, who instilled in her the values she cherished so much throughout her life. Susette Cochran leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy that will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come.

Pallbearers will be Barry Cochran, Jake Beebe, Jerek Beebe, Jensen Cochran, Scott Harson, Aidan Beebe, and Haze Harson.
