Sue Ann Comeaux

Port Barre--A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sue Ann Fontenot Comeaux, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will be held in the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port barre.

Sue, born on March 29, 1957, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away on May 22, 2025. A dedicated and beloved member of her community, Sue Ann served as a secretary for St. Landry Parish Public Works, where her organizational skills and warm disposition were valued by colleagues and the public alike.

A proud graduate of Port Barre High School, Sue Ann's roots in the area were deep, as she embraced the values of hard work and family that were instilled in her. Family was at the heart of her existence, and she took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her life, and she cherished the moments spent with them, often expressing her love through her exceptional baking and cake-decorating talents.

Sue Ann is survived by her daughter, Jessica Fontenot (Eric) of Port Barre; her sister, Jere Campbell (Blaine) of Port Barre; her sister-in-law, Corlis Fontenot of Port Barre; and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Brown of Palmetto. She was a proud grandmother to Rhett and Reese Fontenot, and Bennett Comeaux, who brought immense joy to her daily life.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Wilfred and Flora Bell Fontenot; her husband, Johnny Comeaux; her son, Kameron Comeaux; and her brother, Billy Fontenot. Sue Ann's legacy will continue through her family and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and passion for life. A lasting presence in their hearts, she will be deeply missed.
