Opelousas- A Memorial Service will be held for Shirley Marie Beaugh on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 3:15 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm in the chapel. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will recite the rosary and officiate the service.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Marie Beaugh, age 91, who left this world on July 25, 2026, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

Shirley is survived by her sons, John Beaugh of Opelousas and David Beaugh of Opelousas; daughters, Stephanie Beaugh of Opelousas and Sandra Beaugh of Carencro; sister, Bernice Ann Broussard of Eunice; grandchildren, Scotty Theriot, Patrick Hebert, Cole Meche, Tyler Beaugh, Eric Beaugh, Lane Beaugh, Austin Beaugh, Ethan Beaugh, Christian Beaugh, and Cameron Beaugh; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Beaugh; grandson, Jamie Theriot;parents, Curlice & Eula Jagneaux; sister, Bertie Norma Gilmore.

Throughout the decades, Shirley’s love of reading opened new worlds and nurtured her thoughtful, inquisitive mind. An avid reader, she found solace and inspiration between the pages of her books, always eager to champion the power of words and the importance of learning. Equally significant was Shirley’s dedicated involvement in prayer groups—a testament to her deep faith and unfailing commitment to the spiritual well-being of herself and her community. Through prayer and fellowship, she fostered bonds of compassion and mutual support, touching innumerable lives with her wisdom and kindness.

Shirley grew up with a vibrant curiosity and joy for life. In her youth, she shone with vivacity; her time as a majorette in high school remains a treasured memory, emblematic of her youthful exuberance and her delight in bringing smiles to others.
