Opelousas- Funeral service will be held for Sherry Ann Rivette, on Saturday, January 27, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Benny Reppond will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Saturday, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m.

Sherry Ann Rivette, a beloved homemaker and a very loving and caring person, passed away peacefully in her home on January 22, 2024. She was born on September 28, 1956, in Covington. Sherry was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and compassionate nature.

Throughout her life, Sherry dedicated herself to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. With loving devotion, she cared for her husband of 42 years, John M. Rivette of Opelousas. Their marriage was built on a foundation of love, support, and mutual respect that served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Sherry's role as a wife brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life.

Sherry also took great pride in being a devoted mother to her son Christopher J. Rivette of Opelousas. She poured her heart and soul into raising him with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Her endless sacrifices and tireless efforts shaped Christopher into the incredible person he is today.

In addition to her immediate family members, Sherry leaves behind cherished memories with her  siblings - Ricky Lapine of Independence, Dee Lapine of Covington, Eddy Lapine, and Agnes Segura of Ponchatoula. They shared countless laughs together and supported each other through both joyful and challenging times.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bertha Lapine.

Aside from dedicating herself to her family, Sherry had many interests that brought joy to her life. She had a passion for crafts and building things. The joy she found in creating beautiful handmade items was evident in the care and attention she put into every piece. Her creativity and meticulous craftsmanship were truly remarkable.

Sherry will always be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and loving nature. She was a pillar of strength and hope for her family and friends, always offering a listening ear, reliable advice, and unwavering support. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued and appreciated.

Although our hearts are heavy with grief at the loss of Sherry's physical presence, her memory will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her. Sherry's legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were touched by her life.

As we bid farewell to Sherry Ann Rivette, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and honor her by carrying forward the love she shared with us. May she rest in eternal peace as our hearts find solace in the memories she gifted us.
