Sheila Galloway, age 66, passed peacefully on September 5, 2026, at her residence in Arnaudville.
Born on January 24, 1960, Sheila moved through life with a spirit that drew people in. She loved to have a good time, never met a stranger, and was honest to a fault. Those who knew her will remember the easy warmth she carried and the unmistakable way she made an impression simply by being herself.
She found joy in painting and music, and she especially loved fishing, a pastime that earned her the nickname “catfish.” Above all, Sheila loved her family deeply. Her children, grandchildren, and godchildren stood among her proudest accomplishments, and that devotion was at the heart of who she was. The love she gave so freely will remain one of her most enduring gifts.
Sheila is survived by her daughters, Dana Marie Estilette, La’toya Lydia Estilette and husband Joseph Guillory; son, Donald Estilette, Jr.; her partner, Gary Richard; sisters, Sarah Dimonde and husband Miles and Vanessa Sharp and husband Larry; grandchildren, Tay’lor Estilette, Lay’la Guillory, Haley Guillory, Brennen Truax, Maddison Truax, Davis Estilette and Olivia Estilette; godchildren, Chasey Bellard, Brock Estilette, Erin Myers, K.J. Vercher and Tabitha Leblanc.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Hilda Galloway; her brother, Willie Lee Galloway; and her sister, Eva Lea Leger.
Sheila’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her life was marked by joy and deep affection for those closest to her, and she will be remembered with lasting love.
