Shawn Elston

Shawn Elston, a dedicated retired Navy Veteran, passed away on June 24, 2024 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette. Born on August 16, 1959, he lived a remarkable life filled with a diverse range of interests and passions.

Throughout his life, Shawn had a deep appreciation for antiquing, gardening, and art. He found joy in serving his church community and took great pride in looking after his animals. His commitment to these hobbies and interests reflected his kind and nurturing nature.

Shawn's military service was a significant part of his life, where he demonstrated courage and integrity. His contributions to the Navy will always be remembered with gratitude.

Shawn is survived by his step-son, Ryan Ebert of Port Barre; daughter, Sydney Elston of Opelousas; sister, Lisa Rangelov of Michigan; and grandchild, Juliana Ebert.

Shawn is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Elston and his parents, Darrell Elston and Irma Smith Elston.

His loving family and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. Shawn's legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

May he rest in peace knowing that his life made a lasting impact on those around him.
