Port Barre - A Private Graveside Service will be held for Sharon “Faye” Hooks at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pastor Benji Richard will conduct the service.
Faye, age 68, a lifelong resident of Port Barre, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She fought like a champ against cancer, but now she has finally found peace, Cancer Free.
She was an avid gardener and had a very beautiful yard on the bayou. She loved shopping at Goodwill and Walmart. She also enjoyed raising her 5 fur babies who she loved dearly.
She leaves behind her 5 children that will miss her dearly. One son, Toby Hooks and his wife, D’Anna of Krotz Springs; four daughters, Sharon Kay Stander and her husband, Burt of Opelousas, Hope Guidry and her husband, Chad of Port Barre, Holly Hooks and her fiancé, Garrett Schexnayder of Krotz Springs and bonus daughter, Terry Andrus and her husband, Mickey of Port Barre; grandchildren, Kelsi Andrus Willis, Joshua Roberson, Leo Richard III, Jonathon Stelly, Jovi Stelly Thibodeaux, Ali Hooks, Kamie Bertrand, Tyler Disotell, Koby Disotell, Cory Disotell and Hayden Schexnayder; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bud” Hooks; her parents, Eula Mae Richard, Leo Paul Richard and Wilbur “Snook” Carriere; sisters, Diane Sidwell and Shelia Fontenot; brothers, Danny Richard and Tony Gene Graffino.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Louisiana Hospice and all their staff.
Pallbearers will be, Jonathan Stelly, Josh Roberson, Leo Richard III, Tyler Disotell, Cory Disotell, Hayden Schexnayder, and honorary will be Koby Disotell.
