Russell Gautreaux

Opelousas- A Funeral Service for, Russell "Chic" Gautreaux, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017, in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas, with visitation starting at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Dean Rydbeck of the Hope Presbyterian of Opelousas will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mr. Gautreaux, age 85, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Senior Village Nursing Home. Chic always had a great passion for music. In his early years he produced a French record; and throughout his life he played the guitar with several area bands. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sister, Lillie Mae Gautreaux Bihm of Opelousas, LA and host nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Armonce Gautreaux; his parents, Lastie and Alida Gautreaux; his brothers, Merrick Gautreaux, J.C. Gautreaux, Lester Gautreaux and Robert Gautreaux; and his sisters, Vergie Joubert and Lucille Zerangue.
