Opelousas Memorial services for Mrs. Rosella Fontenot Marcantel, age 77, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.

Rev. Rick Hardwick and Rev. Ricky Pavlu officiated the services.

Mrs. Rosella was a native of Ville Platte and was a resident of Opelousas. She died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, in the Opelousas General Health System. She loved to cook for her family and was a great seamstress and a nursing aide for the elderly.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mr. Eston Marcantel; two daughters: Caroline Mazurkiewicz and husband, George; and Joyce Bennett and husband, Jerry, all of Opelousas; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A private family gathering was held on Saturday, December 20, 2008, from noon until 2 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas.
