Rose Nell (Fruge) Duplechin

Lawtell- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rose Nell Duplechin on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Fr. Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery.

Rose, age 89, a resident of Church Point, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Opelousas General Hospital.

Rose enjoyed painting, making dolls, making christening gowns, sewing, and making rosaries.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Daigle (Jules) and Linda Vallot (Caje), sisters, Grace Vidrine, Jane Fontenot, and Barbara "Bobby" Farrell (Phil), 11 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren with twin boys on the way, daughter-in-law, Caroline Duplechin, and sister- in-law, Vernice Gautreaux.

She is preceded in death by husband, Vernon Duplechin, parents, Cleveland and Mary Fruge, son, Charles Duplechin, daughter, Janice Berard, brother, James Carol "Jim" Fruge, great-granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth, mother and father-in-law, Villiar and Alida Duplechin, son in law, Roderick Frank Prevost, and son in law, David Berard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The rosary will be recited by Fr. Jason Vidrine at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chad Duplechin, Shawn Duplechin, Lance Duplechin, Blake Prevost, Chris Daigle, Chase Shields.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ty Berard and Jeramy Duplechin.
