Rosamond Nookie Mouret

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Rosamond C. Nookie Mouret, age 92, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at the Sibille Funeral Chapel, followed by interment in the St. Landry Church Cemetery. The Reverend Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

Mrs. Mouret was a native of Mt. Pleasant, TX and a long time resident of Opelousas and was currently living at the Riosol Nursing Home in Mansura, La. She passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009.

Ms. Nookie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a past member of the Opelousas Garden Club, Ladies Altar Society of Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a volunteer mother at A.I.C. school. She is going to be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Joann Mouret; sister, Paula Rutledge, Houma.

Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Albert Mouret, Sr.; son, Louis Albert Bert Mouret, Jr.; and parents, Robert and Essie Hall Cloninger.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
