Ronald Anthony Duplichan, born on October 20, 1956, in Kinder, Louisiana, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Opelousas General. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ronald proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, exemplifying dedication and commitment to his country. After his military service, he to embody the values he learned through his time in the Marines, demonstrating discipline and strength in all aspects of his life.
Outside of his service, Ronald was known for his remarkable skills as a black belt in karate, where he found not just a hobby but a passion that fostered both physical fitness and mental discipline. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for hunting, where he relished the challenge of pursuing squirrels, rabbits, and deer. Ronald had an undeniable appreciation for nature and adventure, often sharing stories of his adventures with friends and family.
In addition to his activities in the wild, Ronald had a keen interest in technology. His enthusiasm for all things new and innovative kept him engaged with the ever-evolving landscape of gadgets and innovations.
Ronald is survived by his son, Ronald “Tony” Duplechain & fiancé, Dana Quebedeaux; step-son, Mario Del Auqila of Hollywood, FL; brother, Charles Duplechain of Arnaudville; sister, Mona Ortego of Kinder, La; grandchildren, Ryan Duplechain and Gavin Duplechain; great- granddaughter, Ava Duplechain; nieces, Jamie, Latanya, Donna, Loretta, Charity, and Heather; nephews, Johnny, Jeremy, Clint, and Matthew; and brother-in-law, Kirby Metrejean of Opelousas.
Ronald is predeceased in death by the mother of his son, Sandra Stoute Fontenot; his parents, Johnny & Rose Duplichan; and sisters, Peggy Metrejean and Cheryl Johnson.
Ronald's life was a rich tapestry of experiences, interests, and achievements. His warm spirit and zest for life will be sorely missed by those lucky enough to have crossed paths with him. As we remember Ronald Anthony Duplichan, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by service, passion, and a profound love for life’s adventures.
