Robert Lee Lamke, Sr, a cherished patriarch and beloved companion, entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2024, at his residence in Port Barre. Born on October 8, 1940, in the heart of Plaisance, LA, Robert touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and zest for life.

Robert’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and generosity. His hands were not just skilled in tending to his garden or casting a line into the glistening waters; they also crafted delish dishes that brought joy to those around him. Whether it was sharing his homemade sausage and jerky or conversations over coffee with loved ones - Robert's culinary creations always bore the essence of his caring spirit. Though he may have embarked on his final journey beyond our sight, his legacy of love and laughter will forever dwell in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bett Lynn Dedon Lamke and their beloved fur baby, Nellie; sons, John Lamke, Robert Lamke, Jr. and wife Alesia and Arthur Lamke and wife Pamela; daughters, Evelyn Courville, Danielle Lamke Wyble and husband Dale, and Delaney Hathcock and husband James; brothers, George Burton Lamke and Shelvin Ray Lamke; sisters-in-law, Verdie Lamke and Jay Lamke; grandchildren, Annie Lamke, Bridgette Robin, Robert Lamke III, Michaella, Travis, John Luke, Landon, Ty, and Christian Lamke, Katie Williams, Zoe and Barry Jai Courville, Waylon, Harley, Lane, Brody and Hudson Hathcock, Logan Lee, May and Macy Lynn, Cameron Fontenot; and a host of great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertie Vidrine Lamke; his first wife, Mary Melda Lamke; his daughter and son-in-law, Dana Fontenot and husband, SSG Jarred Seth Fontenot; his son-in-law, Barry Courville; his brothers, Emile Verdon Lamke, Alden Lamke and James A. Lamke and wife Sondra; and his sister-in-law, Wanda Lamke.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. (OPEN ALL NIGHT) until time of service on Monday in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening by Deacon Jerry Wyble.
