Robert Devillier

A Funeral Service will be held for Robert Dale Devillier Sr. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Fr Ted Broussard will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Robert, age 62, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by loving family.

Robert served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a mine sweeper. Robert cherished spending time with his family, spending time outdoors fishing and boiling crawfish and crabs for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Durio Devillier of Lawtell; son, Robert Dale Devillier Jr. and wife, Kimberly of Port Barre; daughters, Kacie Lee and husband, Chet of Grand Prairie and Abbie Prudhomme and husband, Travis of Lawtell; brother Lenny Devillier and wife, Sharon of Opelousas; sister, Sheila Kidder and husband, Paul of Denham Springs; Maternal aunt Hazel “Nanny” Phillips; 8 grandchildren, Alexis, Briar and Rhylyn Lee, Bailey and Tucker Prudhomme, Kooper Miller, Allison and Hudson Devillier; many brothers and sisters-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mackenzie “Kenzie Belle” Fontenot; parents, Leland and Mary Grace Lalonde Devillier; sister, Barbara “Sista” Gail Devillier Cason; brothers, Mike, Carl, Leland “Junior”, Glenn “Tiny”, Kenny and David Devillier; nephew, Lenny Paul Devillier, Jr.; grandparents, Sydney and Ida Marks Lalonde and Hector and Noeda Bergeron Devillier; In-laws, Neka and Belle Gulino Durio.

Pallbearers will be Robert Devillier Jr, Chet Lee, Travis Prudhomme, Lenny Devillier, Briar Lee and Albert Durio.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.  The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

The family would like to thank the loving staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for the special care they provided to Mr. Devillier.
