Robert Earl Boudreaux

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Robert Earl Boudreaux on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Jude Thiery will celebrate the mass and Fr. Donavan Labbe will co celebrate. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. Born on July 16, 1944, Robert lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and community.

He was deeply committed to his role in the Knights of Columbus, serving as a proud member of K C Council #3409, where he achieved the distinction of Knight of the Year in 2019. His contributions to the organization extended to revered positions including 4th Degree Knight, and he was recognized as a super booster in 1988 at Opelousas Catholic. Robert expressed his dedication through perfect attendance at the Post Office there, where he made lasting connections and friendships. Robert served to his fullest ability every week at Icon Food Pantry.

Robert’s family was central to his being. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eloise K. Stevens Boudreaux, of Opelousas; his daughter, Bridget Vidrine, and her husband Jason, of Opelousas; and his daughter Nichole Perry of Grosse Tete. He delighted in being the proud grandfather to Kathryn Elizabeth Perry and Emma Grace Perry. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Claudette Gordon of Oakdale, and Cynthia Quebedeaux, (Keith) of Sulphur, as well as his brothers, Placide Boudreaux and Leon Boudreaux, (Karen) both of Opelousas.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Hilda C. Boudreaux; his brother, Fred Boudreaux; and his son-in-law, John Perry. The loss of Robert leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, and he will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his gentle spirit, and his exemplary commitment to those around him. His legacy will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.

Pallbearers will be Randall Gordon, Kenneth Stevens, Jason Vidrine, Bryant Collins, Jerry Lege, Sr., and Douglas Ortego.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. On Tuesday November 12, 2024 visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
