Opelousas-Funeral services will be held for Rickie Lester Bordelon at 3:15 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation will began at 9:00 am with a Rosary at 3:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Rickie, a beloved and kind man, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at his home in Washington, Louisiana succumbed to a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Born on May 29, 1962, in Opelousas, Rickie lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and a deep connection to his community and family.

For 25 years, Rickie was self-employed, proudly owning and operating his company, Light Line of Louisiana. His commitment and entrepreneurial spirit were evident in the success and longevity of his business, which stood as a testament to his hard work and perseverance.

Rickie was a man who loved the outdoors and adventure, especially enjoying riding in the International Scouts and Trail riding. He was an active member of the La. 4x4 club and had a particular fondness for Scouts & Jeep Vehicles, a passion inspired by his grandfather. These hobbies were a source of joy and camaraderie, reflecting his vibrant spirit and love for life.

Rickie was deeply loved by those who knew him. He leaves behind his mother, Frances Wyble Bordelon of Washington, Louisiana; his brother, Randy Bordelon (Vanessa) of Washington, Louisiana; and his sister, Cheryl Coburn (Gary) of Palmetto, Louisiana. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Wendell Bordelon, Erica Lalonde, Brittnay Doucet, Monique Butler, Grant Coburn, Kyle Coburn, Derrick Coburn, and Tiffany Lakamp, his step son, Chase Hull of Baton Rouge, Rickie's beloved dog, Roux, was a faithful companion during his life. In addition, he was lovingly cared for by his devoted caregivers Dashawana, Lori, Glenda, and Pauline.

Rickie was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Bordelon, and his father, Hushel Bordelon, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

His gentle nature, unwavering kindness, and loving heart made an indelible impression on those around him. Rickie Lester Bordelon’s life was one of earnest dedication to family, friendship, and the things he held dear. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at 325 Hudson St. 4th floor, New York, NY 10013 in honor of Rickie Bordelon. 

Pallbearer's will Wendell Bordelon, Ted Labbe, Kyle Coburn, Derrick Coburn, Ronnie Wyble, Bryce Bordelon.

Honorary pallbearer's will be Randy Bordelon, Gary Coburn, and Grant Coburn.
