Rachal Monette Mistric

Port Barre- Funeral service will be held for Rachal Monette Mistric on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre with Fr. Clint Trahan officiating. Visitation will be held in the Sibille Funeral Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. The rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow.

Rachal, a resident of Port Barre, entered eternal rest on June 27, 2023, while surrounded by family, at the age of 54. 

In her early life, her passion was playing softball. She played for the Port Barre High Lady Red Devils. It was on the field where she shined bright on the pitcher’s mound.  She loved the game and received many awards including All District, District Most Valuable Player, and All State. 

Rachal loved her family so much.  She was always calling and checking in just to see how everyone was doing.  Rachal loved to “cut a block” and visit with her friends.  She loved cooking but she loved watching football and baseball games more…that LSU Tigers Baseball Championship win was just for her!

Rachal is survived by her spouse of 28 years, Shannon Fontenot of Opelousas and their dog “Pokey”; her mother Linda Lacassin of Port Barre; her father Charles Mistric of Port Barre; brothers, Charles (Chuck) Mistric, Jr. of Port Barre; Brad Estis and wife Lainey of Port Barre; Carlos Mistric and wife Mamie of Port Barre; Chance Mistric and wife Kelli of Opelousas; and Jacque Mistric and wife Jenna of Moss Bluff.  

A host of nieces and nephews that she loved so much; Hagan Evans & husband Derek (Zoey, Sophie, Camille, & Jayde) , Kade Mistric & wife Bailey (Sutton), Gabi Ray & husband Dylan, Colt Mistric, Haley Hobson & husband Caleb (Shepherd), Jaci Estis and Jagger (Wesley & Anna), Adam Estis, William “Cam” Mistric, Cannon Mistric, Haydn Arabie, Kase Disotell, Trey Mistric & wife Alexis; Recca Mistric, Joleigh Mistric, and Jhett Mistric.

Her aunts and uncles were Michael Keith Roy, Susie & Rickie Hebert, Cyndi & Harold Doucet, Dottie & Marvin Smith, Michelle Burghdoff & Bryan Reed, Cleveland & Shelia Mistric, Bobby & Elaine Richard, Carol & Don Stanford, Tammy & Steve Marks.

Rachal is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anas Richard, Jr & Nora Guillory Richard; her paternal grandparents, Carlos “Bill” Mistric & wife Arleen Rita Roy Mistric & Elsie Francois Mistric & husband A.J. Collette; Carlos “Billy” Mistric Jr., Tracy Mistric Viola, and Charlene Guillory Mistric. 

Pallbearers will be Chuck Mistric, Brad Estis, Justin Fontenot, Jacque Mistric, Carlos Mistric, and Kreg Richard. 
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chance Mistric, Colt Mistric, Wesley Richard, Adam Estis, and Kade Mistric.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brad and Lainey Estis (530 OG Track Road, Port Barre, LA 70577) to help family with funeral expenses.
