Percy Marks, Sr.

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Percy Marks, Sr., on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Reverend Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mr. Percy, age 80, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

In his early years Mr. Percy enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a carpenter and loved spending his free time wood working. Mr. Percy enjoyed watching boxing and cheering on his favorite football team the LSU Tigers. Mr. Percy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Marquitha Quebedeaux Marks; sons, Joseph Percy Marks, Jr. and wife, Tami of Alexandria, and Jared Marks and wife, Wendy of Houston, TX; daughters, Lana Leger and husband, Greg of Port Barre, and Stacy Chambers and husband, Javon of Lafayette; brother, Floyd Marks of Leonville; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theophile and Azelea Stelly Marks; brother, Dona "Tu Tu" D. Marks; sisters, Effie Richard, Eula Mae Richard, Theresa Jones and Georgia Langlois.

The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. A rosary service will be prayed by Reverend Daniel Picard at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Blake Quebedeaux and Benjamin Quebedeaux, Jordan Marks, Austin Marks, and James Leger.
