Obituary

Opelousas--A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Paulette Olivier Sibille at 10:30 am on Friday, August 14, 2026 in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Fr. Andrew Schumacher will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.

Paulette, passed away on August 9, 2026, at Calcutta House in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was born on July 4, 1965, in Franklin, Louisiana.

Paulette’s life began amidst the warmth, vibrancy, and traditions of south Louisiana, a place whose character she carried with her throughout her years. Her presence touched all who knew her, and to family, friends, and acquaintances alike, she leaves cherished memories that endure beyond her passing.

Paulette’s journey from Franklin to Lafayette wove her into the fabric of these communities. It was in these places that she created connections, forged friendships, and pursued the everyday joys that made her story uniquely her own.

She will be remembered for the gentle imprint she left on the lives she encountered along her path. As we recall Paulette, may we reflect on the strength of her spirit and the dignity with which she walked through life.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Paulette is survived by her sons, Beau Sibille and his fiancée Laura of Overland Park, Kansas, and Ross Sibille and his wife Morgan of Lafayette, daughter, Julia Olivier and her fiancé Tommy of Lafayette, sisters, Debra Roberston and her husband George of Carencro, Cynthia Rozas and her husband Lynn of Franklin, LA, and Rebecca Pellerin and her husband Craig of Franklin, La., in laws, Lisa and Patrick Dooley, Tony Sibille, Wendy Saracino, and William and Suzanne Sibille, grandchildren, Prim and Maverick Olivier, Vincent and Blair SIbille, and Finnick Nguyen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Scott Sibille, parents, Julia and Leonard Olivier and her in-laws, Jeanette and Irwin Sibille.

Pallbearers will be Ross Sibille, Beau Sibille, Christopher Dooley, Jonathan Dooley, Blake Roberston, Drew Rozas, Brandt Tabor, and Tommy Nguyen.

Paulette Ann Sibille’s memory will continue to live on in the recollections and hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed.
