Monique was a resident of Bayou Pigeon, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on September 26, 1984, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Monique was known for her warm heart and caring nature that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Monique dedicated much of her life to her work as a cashier, where her very loving and attentive personality made a lasting impression on customers and colleagues alike. Her compassion and kindness were the hallmarks of her character, and she carried these qualities with grace every day. She loved to cook, go crawfishing and babysitting her babies.
She was a loving second mom, to Brianna Renee Landry, and Brysonn Joseph Landry, both of Port Barre, as well as a fiancé, to Michael James Ackman of Bayou Pigeon, her mother, Debra Kerry Popps of Melville, her brother Jesse Lynn Prudhomme of Melville, and her dear sissy, Donielle Hebert of Plaquemine. She also is survived by her maternal grandmother, Nancy Mae Kerry of Melville, whose love and support meant the world to Monique.
Monique’s life was shaped by the memories of those who preceded her in death. She is mourned alongside the loss of her fathers, Terrell Richard and Daniel Popps, her sister Hope Nicole Landry, her maternal grandfather Herman Paul Kerry, Sr., and her maternal great-grandparents, Jesse and Bernice Kerry, and John and Mary Credeur, and her nieces, Brittany Landry and Candice Landry.
Throughout her life, Monique was a beacon of love and care, qualities that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her presence brought comfort and joy, and though she is no longer with us, her spirit and the memories she created will endure forever.
We honor Monique Marie Landry’s life with deep respect and sincere affection, reflecting on her enduring kindness and the profound impact she made on all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
