Obituary

Opelousas- Opelousas Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchell Lane Byrom, age 73, will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Benny Reppond will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Cemetery.

Mitch passed away on June 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mitch, a retired Opelousas firefighter & an avid hunter and fisherman, will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Sandoz Byrom, children Bert Byrom of Opelousas, Billie Jo Frame & husband, Casey of Addis. Siblings Mike Byrom and wife, Bunny of Opelousas, Tommy Byrom of Alabama, Kenny Byrom and wife, Debbie of Carencro, Susan Saucier and husband, Danny of Lafayette, Jennifer Fontenot and husband, Racheal of Melville and April Byrom of Duson. His grandchildren who he loved dearly are Brayden Byrom, Madison Frame, Landon Frame, and Charlotte Frame.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Bobbie Jo Smith Byrom.

Pallbearers will be, Mike Byrom, Tommy Byrom, Kenny Byrom, David Gaines, Danny Saucier, & Racheal Fontenot.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a eulogy at 6:00 pm by his daughter, Billie Jo Frame. Visitation will reopen on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 8:00 am until time of service.
