Michael Cormier

Grand Coteau-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael Cormier on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.

Michael, age 69, a resident of Church Point, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Acadia St. Landry Guest Home with his family at his side.

Michael enjoyed creating beautiful pieces through wood working. He received the Master Award for Big Brothers and Big Sister. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Cooley Cormier; stepdaughters, Sherry Smith and husband Richard, Rhonda Curtis, Danielle Bogle and Theresa Burr; one stepbrother, Andrew Thibodeaux of Sunset; one step sister; Betty (Dennis) Williams of Colorado; grandchildren, Sofia Burr, Bella Burr and Ryan Smith; he was a big brother to, Pacey Courville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Cormier and Anna Jane Boss Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Boss, Jimmy Clark, Kurt Richard, Burt Boss, Jessie Thibodeaux, Randy Cormier and Pacey Courvelle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Grand Coteau. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. by Kurt Richard Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the ALSA Foundation or Team Gleason in Michael’s memory.
