Opelousas, La Funeral services for Melda Stout Menard, 77, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2007, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, Opelousas, La with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery, Opelousas, La .

Rev. Perry Hubbs, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Opelousas, La. will conduct the services.

Mrs. Menard, a resident of Opelousas, La, died at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Opelousas General Health System.

Ms. Melda was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Everyone that knew her commented about how she was a professional grandmother by trade. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Antoine Menard, Opelousas, La; son, A.J. Menard and wife Patricia, La Place, La; daughters, Ruth Ann Brister and husband Larry of Coral Springs, Fl., Linda Kee and husband Kenneth of Grammercy , La, Deborah Huffman and husband Tim of La Pace, La and a daughter-in-law, Garnett W. Menard; Opelousas, La. sisters, Gertie Stout Doucet of Washington, La, Dolly Stout Chachere of Lafayette, La, Emma Lee Daniels and husband Charles of Port Barre, La; grandchildren, 15; great grandchildren, 23.

Mrs. Menard was preceded in death by a son, Norman Menard, Sr; sister Mary Stout Andrus, and her parents John B. Stout and Emma Stelly Stout.

Visiting hours will be observed from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:00 AM Friday until time of service.
