Melba Hargroder, a devoted homemaker known for her very loving and caring nature, passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2024. She was born on August 8, 1937, in Prairie Ronde, Louisiana.
She survived by her beloved husband, Willard Hargroder of Abbeville, her son Don Hargroder and his wife Sammy of Lafayette, her daughters Joan Bazard and her husband Mike of Morgan City, and Hope Gaudin and her husband Todd of Baton Rouge. Melba also leaves behind a host of grandchildren - Valerie, Lori, Michelle, Don Jr., Barnabas, Bridget, Paige, Ethan, Jason, and Xavier - as well as great-grandchildren Christian, Madeline, Alex, William, Lainie, Lexi, Tagyn, Charlie and Zack.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents Terance and Nina Johnson.
In our memories of Melba, we cherish the love she shared with us all. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will forever live on in our hearts. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
