Mary, a beloved homemaker and devoted member of the community, passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on April 10, 1961, in Oakdale, Louisiana, Mary brought warmth and love into the lives of those who knew her.

Mary dedicated herself to her family with unwavering affection. She was known for her loving personality, always ready with a kind word or a warm embrace. Her greatest joys included spending time with her family and her beloved dogs, particularly her Boston Terrier, Loki, who brought her much happiness.

An avid fishing enthusiast, Mary found peace and joy in the serene moments spent by the water. Her passion for animals was evident in her active involvement with the Every Paw Animal Rescue, where she extended her heartfelt care for all creatures great and small.

Mary leaves behind her devoted husband, Vernon Vidrine, of Mamou, and her cherished children: son William Hicks, Sr. and his wife April of Searcy, Arkansas, and daughter Kiley Vidrine of Pine Prairie. Her legacy will continue through her beloved grandchildren, Jorden Holden, Rowen Holden, Justice Hicks, and Will Hicks, Jr., who will forever hold their grandmother’s love in their hearts.

Mary is also survived by her dear friends Stacy and Lisa, who were an important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Shaw, who laid the foundation for the loving person she became.

Mary Virginia Vidrine will be remembered for her kindness, her passion for her family and animals, and the joyful memories she created with those she loved. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
