Marlene Ann Caillouet passed away on January 13, 2024, in Baton Rouge. A private family service conducted by Deacon Sammy Diesi of St. Landry Catholic Church will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Belleview Cemetery, Opelousas, Louisiana.
She was born in Church Point, Louisiana, October 27, 1933, to James Caillouet and Edna Daigle Caillouet, but spent most of her life in Baton Rouge. She graduated from Texas schools, Port Neches High School, and a Port Arthur business school. She moved to Opelousas, Louisiana to work for Sinclair Oil Company then transferred to the Baton Rouge office. She worked at LSU from 1970 to 2009 for the College of Business Administration.
She is predeceased by her sister Patricia Gayle Caillouet, her brothers Richard D. Caillouet and wife Georgia Smith, James T. (Bubsy) Caillouet and wife Carolyn Lafleur, sister-in-law Carolyn Cobb Caillouet, brother-in-law Harry J. Lafleur, and nieces Marla Lafleur Pitre and Sadie Hannah Caillouet.
She is survived by her sister Jacqueline Caillouet Lafleur, by brothers Nicholas L. Caillouet, John W. Caillouet (Gayle), C. Dwight Caillouet (Jo Ann) plus many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Marlene’s favorite hobby involved culinary pursuits. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching LSU sports, cooking a good meal, and settling down with an entertaining book and an old fashion on the side.
